Shimla: The City where gods live
Discovered by the British back in the 19th century, Shimla is a city that is worth a visit. It is nestled on seven hills and is popularly known as “the queen of hills”. To have spectacular views of the hills surrounding the city, head to the Ridge. It’s found along Mall Road and offers amazing views of the mountains. From this point, you also get to see north India’s oldest church known as Christ Church.
For some souvenirs and fresh local produce, the Lakkar Bazaar turns out to be the best place to purchase from. It’s popular that visitors to Shimla must pay the colorful market a visit. They sell handicrafts, Kullu shawls, woolen apparel, and dry fruits.
For some quiet time when you are visiting Shimla, head to the picturesque town of Summer Hills. It’s suitable for those that want quiet walks, to relax and appreciate what nature has to offer. It’s at an altitude of 1283 meters and the surroundings are what makes it exceptional.
Surrounder by Summer Hill, Elysium, Observatory, Bantony, Inveram and Prospect Hill, Shimla is an exceptionally beautiful city. It’s Himachal Pradesh’s capital in the southwestern part of Himalayas. Once a lost paradise, today it’s a popular tourist destination.
